The graphic design industry we know today started to develop during the industrial revolution era. During this period visually appealing products were able to be mass sold. The business owners also noticed how such products were able to affect the interest of the shoppers and increase the profits of the business. They later changed their focus from creating simply an essential product to visually appealing products. This is how the demand for graphic design increased and gave birth to the modern era of graphic design.

Art movements played an essential role in molding the modern era in the graphic design industry. These are those movements of the past that had a heavy influence on graphic design and the design world in general. Due to them, the graphic design industry has evolved into what we see today.

Art Nouveau- Art Nouveau consisted of a unique style and was mostly used to design posters featuring women and was famous across the United States, and Europe. It also influenced the illustration of books and advertising, designing exceptional beauty logos.

Art Deco - A well-known graphic design movement that gave rise to geometric and mechanical appearances. It was used to display posters and advertisements featuring ships, planes, and cars. It consisted of sleek, streamlined shapes. Logos created using this style appeared simple and symmetrical.

The Graphic design industry had a rapid development during the past 23 years, until the 90s there was a different approach towards graphic design. With the advancement of technologies, the industry has evolved. Things are now more digital as compared to earlier times.

New software allowed designers to create designs like never before, from 3D dimensional printing to typography, and more. Designers now also can expand and experiment with new methods easily.
